frequently asked questions

freight house is an inclusive and welcoming environment. our goal is to make everyone feel at home while enjoying an elevated yet approachable dining experience. dress how you feel comfortable (dress up or come casual!), bring the kids if you’d like, and let us show you how we do southern hospitality with a modern twist.

that said, here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions so you know what to expect when dining with us:

our dress code is simple

shirt & shoes required, of course – beyond that, feel free to wear what you’re comfortable in. guests dining before catching the symphony might be wearing suits and gowns, while travelers might choose something more casual. come however you feel comfortable.

we take reservations

you may book online or call us at (270) 908-0006.
if there are more than 10 in your party, it will be necessary to call.
we take reservations 28 days in advance.
if you have a large group (20+) we can plan for you more than a month in advance.
our six-course chef’s tasting menu is available by reservation only: book here.

we do to-go orders, when available

to-go orders are offered on a night-by-night basis. because we prioritize the guests dining with us, there are some evenings when we’re unable to accommodate takeout orders. all to-go orders include a 10% packaging and service fee, which goes directly to the hourly team members who take and prepare your order. not all menu items are available for takeout, and we do not offer online ordering or delivery services. for current availability, please call the restaurant.

we confirm reservations

we are open tuesday-saturday and return calls and emails only on days we are open. if it’s been more than two days (not counting sunday & monday) and you haven’t received confirmation, please check your spam folder. finally, feel free to call again! we attempt to honor and reply to all reservation requests in a timely manner, but if you suspect we missed you, just give us a call at (270) 908-0006.
and don’t forget, you can always book online here.

we sell gift certificates

gift certificates are available for purchase in person — just stop by the restaurant any day we’re open, and we’ll be glad to help. if you need to swing by before service, give us a call to be sure someone’s here. you can also purchase by phone at (270) 908-0006, and we’re happy to mail your certificate or hold it here for pickup.

*gift certificates are valid at their full value one year from the date of purchase.

after the first year, the gift certificate will lose 50% of its value each year and become void after five years. we apologize that we are unable to replace lost or stolen gift certificates.

we host private events

we offer a range of options to host your private event. to discuss these options, please call us at (270) 908-0006 or email events@freighthousefood.com.

our menu changes often

our menu is highly seasonal, and we are proud to source our ingredients responsibly. for this reason, our menu changes frequently. you’re sure to find something new to love at freight house nearly each time you dine with us, but we cannot guarantee the availability of any menu item.

tips for the kitchen

behind every great meal is a crew of cooks, dishwashers, and prep staff who rarely get to meet the guests they serve. they’re the unsung heroes of the restaurant world, and any tip you leave for them goes directly to the back-of-house hourly team that prepared your meal.

we accommodate allergies and diets

we are proud to offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, which will vary over time. we also strive to accommodate guests with common food allergies and sensitivities, including dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat, sesame, and mammalian products. in many cases, we can modify a menu item to meet a guest’s dietary restrictions. please let your server know of any dietary restrictions or food allergies you have before placing your order.

*not all dietary restriction can be accommodated with the tasting menu.
